Imaqa Expedition GR24
The Imaqa GR24 expedition brought together Belgian scientists and explorers to study the so-called “dark zone” of the Greenland ice sheet — an area where dust and algae accelerate surface melt. Led by research teams from UCLouvain, ULB, and the Royal Observatory of Belgium, the mission involved collecting ice cores, snow samples, and radar and seismic data to better understand the processes driving glacier retreat and rising sea levels.
Operating in one of the world’s most challenging environments required total energy independence. Sunslice supported the expedition by supplying a lightweight, modular setup combining Fusion Flex 48 solar panels with Gravity 27 Pro battery systems and LinkPower Mini flight cases. Together, these solutions powered essential field instruments, data loggers, GPS systems, and satellite communication devices.

The equipment’s durability and compact form factor were critical for air and sled transport between research sites. Every setup had to withstand sub-zero temperatures, wind exposure, and rapid redeployment — conditions where silent, emission-free power made both logistics and data collection more efficient.
This collaboration demonstrated how adaptable off-grid energy systems can support scientific missions in polar and extreme environments, where every watt counts.

About the LinkPower Mini and Gravity 27 Pro Systems
Portable Power for Extreme Research Environments

The LinkPower Mini flight case integrates a Gravity 27 Pro portable power station within a compact, weather-protected housing — providing 230 V AC and USB-C outputs for sensitive equipment. With a capacity of 256 Wh and a 300 W pure sine inverter, it ensures reliable energy delivery even in cold, remote conditions.
Paired with Fusion Flex 48 solar panels, the system can recharge during daylight hours while powering continuous monitoring equipment or communications systems. The flexible solar modules are lightweight, foldable, and easily mounted on tents or snow surfaces, ensuring optimal efficiency under low-angle Arctic sunlight.
Compact, silent, and robust, the LinkPower Mini + Gravity 27 Pro setup offers a dependable energy solution for scientific expeditions, polar logistics, and environmental monitoring missions where traditional generators are impractical.
By combining innovation and field-proven design, Sunslice energy systems help explorers and scientists operate further and longer — empowering research where nature still defines the limits.
